How do we find the house?
How do we get in? Do you send us the keys?
What time can we arrive at the flat?
When is checkout time?
We'll give you detailed directions at due time, of course. Nevertheless, in most cases we will recommend to use a small car service company we have been collaborating with for years. Priced more or less like a normal taxi, Gino's drivers will comfortably bring you to your new doorsteps in no time. The small one-way streets in the center are often too much of a challenge for the roman taxi drivers and we have often had our guests left far from the house, forced to drag their luggage on the cobbled stones for several blocks. Not a nice experience, specially if you have a few hours of jet-lag on your back!.
No. We will greet you and let you in. We also show you how everything works and give you the keys. In the event we are not in Rome at the time of your arrival, we will have our caretaker help you withe the check-in. In any case we will call you at your arrival to ensure that everything is fine and to give you all the help and advice you might need.
Together we will read the utilities meters (if the utilities are extra). We will go through the list of the objects in the flat. We will find out where the plastic garbage bags are kept and where garbage should be left. We'll show you where the circuit breakers are in the rare case of current overload or other electrical interruptions and we'll go over the operation of appliances like the washing machine and the dishwasher. Moreover, most probably we will take some time just to chat and give you some good advice about restaurants, museums, exhibitions in town etc. In this sense, please, consider that the check-in will take us about a little less than one hour, so try not to book any specific activity immediately after your arrival.
Between 2 and 4 pm. Why so late? Because the flat will very often have been rented until the very morning of your arrival, with the prior guests departing at 10am. It takes time to prepare the flat properly for you. We feel that the moment of your arrival is crucial. If you arrive too early, the housekeeping will be done in a rushed way and won’t be done right. We will be frustrated; you will be annoyed. Please respect the arrival time so that you and everyone else involved will be happy.
IF the flat was not occupied the night before your arrival, then of course we can arrange for you to go straight to the place and be let in. No reason not to accommodate you.
If the place was indeed occupied before your arrival, then there is no solution. You must simply wait and find a way to occupy your time until the accommodation is ready for occupancy.
Sometimes it may be possible for you to leave your luggage at the apartment early. This cannot be guaranteed, so don’t ask us to guarantee it. If consent is granted for this, you must do simply that: leave your bags and then disappear until the housecleaning has been completed.
If you are arriving very early in the day, and you feel you must get into your new home right away, then the best solution for you is to book the apartment also for the night before your arrival. You only lose one evening, but you are guaranteed to have immediate access to the apartment at the time you prefer.
Checkout time is 10am, and please do not delay. There must be sufficient time left to prepare the place for the next guests. If there is no next guest something which may not be known until the relative last minute we will be happy to discuss a later checkout time.
Please tell us if you intend to leave earlier than planned, or at an ungodly early hour, or at a time different from the “normal” 10am check-out time. That way, we can arrange to settle up on your “extras”, if any, the evening before your departure.
